Liu Qijin
刘奇晋
祖籍四川双流，1942年生于成都。1962年在父亲、著名书法家刘东父的指导下开始学习书法。初学隶书，继习各体，在行书上用力最多。风格平和自然，点画遒劲，结字优美。作品多次参加国内外书法展览。
从事苏轼书法艺术研究，1991年与刘正成合编《中国书法全集．苏轼卷》，受到学术界和书法界的重视，1992年获四川省第五次哲学社会科学优秀科研成果二等奖。1994年担任《四川省志．文艺志》（1840-1990）书法部分总纂和撰稿，次年完成，受到好评。
现为四川省文史研究馆馆员、中国书协教育委员会委员、四川省书法家协会副主席兼教育委员会主任、四川省书学学会副会长、成都市书法家协会副主席，省、市文联委员。
Liu Qijin was born in Chengdu,1942. Form 1962 he commenced his enthusiastic study of Chicese Calligraphy under the edification of his father Liu Dongfu ,a preeminent calligrapher at the time .Beginning with the DiScript ,Liu mastered all kinds of scripts with a special emphasis on the Running-Hand .His works are mostly appreciated for their natural essence of unaffectedness,unique strength of brush-running and superme elegance of the structures.Frequently,his works were exhibited both in and out the nation.
Simultaneously,the calligrapher was also celebrated for his contribution to the research of the calligraphy of Su Shi ,one of the greatest literal giants in Chinese history .Liu Qijin‘s co-work with Liu HEzheng ,the Collected Works of Chinese Calligraphy,Vol.Su Shi,obtained high recognition from both academic and calligraphic circles and consequently won Second Prize in the Fifth Sichuan Provincial Awards of Philosophy and Social Science Achievements .In 1994 he became chief author and editor of the calligraphy part of the Annals of Sichuan Province ,Vol.Literature and Arts ,1840-1990.Completed in the next year ,the book was well-praised.
Liu is currently Director of the Sichuan Institute of Literature and History Research,member of the Chinese Calligraphy Education Committee, Vice Chairman and Educational Director of the Sichuan Calligraphers Association,Chairman of the Sichuan Calligraphers Society and Vice Chairman of the Chengdu Calligraphers
